Vietnam Veterans Memorial Landscape Restoration

Masked planters at the Vietnam Vets Memorial

Through the hard work of Conservancy volunteers and our good friends at the Maplewood Department of Public Works, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial restoration is almost complete, just in time for a ribbon cutting on Veterans Day, November 11. Generously funded by the Maplewood Post 10120, VFW, with donations from the Conservancy and the Maplewood Garden Club, this lushly planted border surrounds a memorial created in 2011 by then township Parks & Shade Trees Supervisor Todd Lamm.

The current restoration was a project of our 2018 summer internship program, led by Jennifer C. Ryan, and developed with undergraduate interns Greta Donato, Grace Kim, and Abdullah Nasir. This is the second major landscape project undertaken by the Conservancy. More in the pipeline, stay tuned–and please support our efforts by becoming a member!
