In Memoriam: Richard Rampolla, Sr.

The Conservancy is very grateful for donations made by family and friends in memory of Richard Rampolla Sr.

Dick Rampolla moved to Oakview Avenue across from Memorial Park in 1962 and lived there until he passed away at 93 in April 2020.  Remembered by all as a man who was generous in spirit and devoted to the community he loved, Dick was a committed and enthusiastic volunteer for many Maplewood organizations, among them the Lions Club, the Civic Association, and the 4th of July Planning Committee. He loved Memorial Park, and once told Conservancy board member Susan Newberry that when he moved to town, he thought the park looked just like a Currier & Ives print in winter, with the trees glistening in the snow and the skaters on the pond.

We thank the Rampolla family for this recognition, and are honored to share these tributes:

The Durand-Hedden House and Garden Association makes this donation in honor of Richard Rampolla. He worked prodigiously to protect Durand-Hedden and insure its future.

This is a donation in honor of Richard Rampolla, a man of great integrity who generously shared his knowledge with me and others for many years to insure the future of the Durand-Hedden House.
