The Durand-Hedden House will host paintings from this season’s Painters in the Park en plain air event at the Carriage House on Sunday, May 18 from 1 to 4 pm, in conjunction with their exhibition “Olmsted and the Hudson River School,” see details below. Memorial Park was designed in the 1920s in the picturesque style by the landscape firms of the Olmsted Brothers (sons of Frederick Law Olmsted) and Brinley and Holbrook.
